Trader Alert 21-31: New Risk Control Features Effective November 15, 2021

On Monday, November 15, 2021, MEMX plans to release the following updates to available risk controls:

  • Duplicative orders risk control – Members will have the ability to configure this control to exclude “price” as a parameter in the calculation. By default, symbol, side, quantity and price are included in the calculation.
  • Order rate control – Members will have the ability to configure this control to optionally allow open orders to remain, while rejecting all new orders when breached. By default, when breached, open orders are cancelled and new orders are rejected.
  • Aggregate notional controls – Members will have the ability to configure this control to optionally allow open orders to remain, while rejecting all new orders when breached for each of the four risk controls individually (daily gross notional, daily net notional, daily market order gross notional, and daily market order net notional). By default, when breached, open orders are cancelled and new orders are rejected. Currently Members can opt to change this behavior across all four gross and net notional risk controls.

This functionality is currently available in MDE and will be available during the UAT on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Please contact Market Operations to enable this functionality.
