At 15:55 ET the Exchange experienced a matching engine failure impacting symbol range U through Z. The software failure causing the outage has been identified and resolved. The Exchange will resume normal operations on 2/24/2021.
Earlier in the day, the Exchange experienced an issue with its ticker plant. After several unsuccessful attempts to failover to backup systems, the Exchange halted trading in the symbol range M through Z at 10:32 ET. At 12:10 ET the Exchange verified proper operation of backup systems and unhalted the symbol range M through Z. At 12:37 ET the Exchange moved the remainder of symbols to the backup systems to avoid further issues. The Exchange has normalized the ticker plant system and will resume normal operations on 2/24/2021.
